Raw, unapologetic, vibrant, emotional: Shirley Sakatani’s artwork embodies fast pouring, wiping, splattering, spraying and bold strokes.

A graduate from California State University with a bachelor’s degree in Fine Art, Shirley has been funneling life’s twists and turns into her art, using her love for colors, movement and composition to create large florals and koi paintings on canvas. Her latest abstracts depict symbolic stories from her family history.
 

Shirley also paints custom pet portraits in oil. These realistic, heartwarming portraits have strengthened both her oil and acrylic painting technique allowing the multiple layers to glow from underneath.
