Christina Bertucchi

mixed media

As an artist and educator, I thrive working in (and teaching) a wide range of media. Capturing the translucency of light and color is something I strive to do with each piece I create. I moved to the Pacific Northwest after getting my master’s degree in art education at the Rhode Island School of Design. Before becoming a teacher, I worked in museums and in admissions for an art school in Florence, italy.

I am very interested in spaces and places – particularly painting en plein air. My favorite part of working in glass is how the finished piece changes throughout the day with the natural light. In addition to landscapes and urban sketching, I am also pursuing a series on the ornamentation of objects and unintentional still lifes.

I am currently teaching drawing, painting, printmaking, and glass art at Charles Wright Academy in Tacoma.
