Ken Windsor
mixed media
KR Windsor is an American/British mixed-media artist whose work explores the intersection of the written word and photography. His art examines the relationship between image and language, the personal and the collective, and the ways in which symbols shape our understanding of the world.
Combining photography, typographic abstraction, pigment prints and other materials, KR creates limited-edition works on paper that explore how visual and written forms influence human perception and belief. His work considers the complex relationship between symbols and meaning, as well as the shared and sometimes conflicting ways we interpret truth.
Having worked in more than 35 countries, KR draws inspiration from the cultural and material diversity of written language and photography, viewing both as evolving records of human expression.
His work has been featured in juried exhibitions across the United States, including Amos Eno Gallery in New York, the Cape Cod Museum of Art, the Center for Contemporary Art in Abilene, Texas, the Maryland Federation of Art in Annapolis, Northwind Art in Port Townsend, Washington, and the Alexandria Museum of Art in Louisiana.
