Collective Visions Gallery is proud to present Lewis J. LaBrashè as June’s featured artist, with his powerful and immersive new series, Deep Waters.
More than a collection of paintings, Deep Waters is an emotional plunge into the unseen—an exploration of internal landscapes shaped by a lifelong connection to the ocean. A self-described Fluid Art Expressionist, LaBrashè doesn’t paint what he sees; he paints who he is. Each canvas is a reflection of his inner world—untamed, intuitive, and unapologetically raw.
LaBrashè’s process is both spontaneous and deeply intentional. Working with flowing mediums and a fearless sense of motion, he allows the paint to move as it will—each brushstroke becoming a whispered truth, a ripple across the surface of something deeper. Inspired by the energy and mystery of the sea, his work doesn’t seek to depict a place but rather evoke a feeling, a memory, a moment suspended between surface and depth.
As LaBrashè says, “Landscape artists paint what they see; expressionists paint who they are.” This philosophy defines his approach, and it’s felt in every piece of Deep Waters. The series is not about decoration—it's about transformation, inviting the viewer to explore their own emotional undercurrents through his vivid, fluid compositions.
LaBrashè’s journey as an artist has spanned many mediums, from custom Tibetan rug designs to large-scale public art. His background in interior design lends a strong sense of space and flow to his paintings, while his expressive, fluid technique often spills off the canvas—sometimes literally. He jokes about framing a piece of his studio floor, a nod to the joyful chaos of his process.
Deep Waters isn’t just something to see—it’s something to feel. Don’t miss this powerful, soul-stirring exhibition by an artist who dares to go beneath the surface.
