This November, Collective Visions Gallery is proud to host Bound by Art, a group exhibition celebrating the creative voices of artists from Tacoma, Washington. Though their styles and mediums vary, these artists are united by a shared dedication to their craft and to one another. Their work is a reflection of individual journeys and a testament to the strength that grows when artists collaborate, exchange ideas, and build community.

This diverse and vibrant exhibition offers a glimpse into the powerful synergy that emerges when artists support each other—not only through shared exhibitions, but through the creative act itself.

The show features:

Becky Frehse, a painter working across media whose richly layered pieces are inspired by gardens, travel, music, and the rhythm of gesture and form.

Christina Bertucchi, a multidisciplinary artist working in watercolor and glass, who brings her expertise as a teaching artist into her creative process.

Heather Gilson Almeda, a painter and photographer who finds joy in painting small, vibrant, everyday subjects with bold strokes and playful abstraction.

Maria Jost, a science-inspired artist and educator who blends watercolor, collage, and somatic healing practices in her collaborative project, Hidden Jewels.

Mary Mann, a muralist and illustrator whose symbolic studio compositions reflect emotional connections between people and nature.

Mindy Barker, a muralist and painter known for whimsical, nature-infused public art featuring imagined creatures and oversized animals meant to spark environmental awareness.

Paige Pettibon, a multidisciplinary artist whose work draws from her Black, White, and Salish heritage to explore themes of identity, culture, and belonging.

Terri Placentia, a painter, printmaker, and ceramic sculptor whose mixed media work explores organic form and the tension between intention and interruption.

Yoshi Nakagawa, a printmaker whose work is influenced by Japanese textiles, natural patterns, and her time spent in Oaxaca, Japan, and the Pacific Northwest.

Together, these artists demonstrate how creativity can connect us, challenge us, and create space for shared expression and reflection.
