Collective Visions Gallery is pleased to welcome David Ulrich as one of our newest gallery members.
David is a multidisciplinary artist whose creative practice has followed him throughout his life, even as his professional career took him into engineering and chemistry. Over the years, he has explored an eclectic range of media and subjects, from pen and ink, stained glass and airbrush to oil and acrylic painting.
Today, David works primarily in acrylic, bringing bright color and strong contrast to subjects that range from Pacific Northwest maritime scenes and Washington State ferries to classic cars and pop art. His varied interests and influences have resulted in a body of work that is difficult to confine to a single style or subject.
More recently, David has taken his work beyond the canvas by transforming thrifted furniture into functional art. Using refinished tables and other found pieces as his surface, he hand-paints bold imagery inspired by classic comic books and nostalgic characters, giving each piece an entirely new life.
David has called Western Washington home since the late 1980s, and we’re happy to now have his work represented here at Collective Visions Gallery.
Please join us in welcoming David Ulrich to CVG, and look for his work on your next visit to the gallery.
